refactor: doom-switch-frame-hook
...
Redesign this hook around `after-focus-change-function`, along with
debouncing, to prevent it from triggering too aggressively (due to
misbehaving desktop environments, elisp packages that tinker with frame
focus, or accidental (and rapid) focus changes by the user).
`doom-switch-{window,buffer}-hook` have also been simplified, and
`doom-switch-window-hook` now will not trigger when focusing another
frame (only when you switch windows *within* any one frame).
This also fixes diff-hl not updating when refocusing an Emacs frame.

refactor: deprecate appendq!, prependq!, & delq! macros

In the interest of slimming down Doom's core (as we near v3), I've
deprecated these macros. They doesn't really need to exist. Sure, the
alternatives aren't as ergonomic or elegant, but they're good enough
that we don't need these trivial wrappers. Their local uses have been
refactored out as well.

...
These optional dotfiles indicate the root of a module or module
group (:lang), and will later contain module metadata. They will also
serve as an alternative to packages.el and doctor.el, and will aide the
parts of the v3.0 module API concerned with resolving the current module
from a path (`doom-module-from-path`), which currently rely too heavily
on parsing path strings.
For now, however, they're simply placeholders.

fix(modeline): remove advice causing org-element cache errors in org
...
This advice was suppressing ws-butler's modification hooks, which had a
nasty side-effect of modifying org buffers without letting its
org-element cache know that it's stale, which resulted in errors like
this, followed by a backtrace:
Warning (org-element): org-element--cache: Unregistered buffer modifications detected (175 != 176). Resetting.
If this warning appears regularly, please report the warning text to Org mode mailing list (M-x org-submit-bug-report).
The advice isn't needed anymore, anyhow.

BREAKING CHANGE: This deprecates the IS-(MAC|WINDOWS|LINUX|BSD) family
of global constants in favor of a native `featurep` check:
IS-MAC -> (featurep :system 'macos)
IS-WINDOWS -> (featurep :system 'windows)
IS-LINUX -> (featurep :system 'linux)
IS-BSD -> (featurep :system 'bsd)
The constants will stick around until the v3 release so folks can still
use it -- and there are still some modules that use it, but I'll phase
those uses out gradually.

BREAKING CHANGE: This commit replaces all-the-icons with nerd-fonts. Any
all-the-icons-* function calls or variable references in your private
config will break and should be replaced with their nerd-icons-*
equivalent. That said, Doom will continue to install all-the-icons for
a while, so feel free to load it if you don't want to fully commit to
the change yet.
This change is happening because nerd-icon has wider support for GUI and
TUI Emacs; has a larger, more consistent selection of symbols; plus unicode
coverage.

This package is cropping up in packages everywhere. Managing it has been
a source of issues, so I'm making it a core package until v3, where
we'll be able to pin packages without explicitly installing them.

Occurs during non-interactive startup of the user's config (e.g. 'doom
doctor'), while :ui (modeline +light) is enabled.
This is a makeshift solution until I get around to finishing the +light
feature.

refactor: deprecate featurep! for modulep!
...
featurep! will be renamed modulep! in the future, so it's been
deprecated. They have identical interfaces, and can be replaced without
issue.
featurep! was never quite the right name for this macro. It implied that
it had some connection to featurep, which it doesn't (only that it was
similar in purpose; still, Doom modules are not features). To undo such
implications and be consistent with its namespace (and since we're
heading into a storm of breaking changes with the v3 release anyway),
now was the best opportunity to begin the transition.

doom-enlist is now a deprecated alias for ensure-list, which is built
into Emacs 28.1+ and is its drop-in replacement. We've already

revert: fix(docs): set mode in file-local vars

emacs-straight/org-mode@e22b4eb7aa introduced a breaking change that
made it impossible to rely on .dir-locals.el to change org-mode buffers
in $EMACSDIR to doom-docs-org-mode (without infinite recursion), so we
used file-local variables in 7e400abemacs-straight/org-mode@215de6176b reverted that change, so we can use
.dir-locals.el again, and this is my preference, since it requires less
boilerplate across our hundreds of org files.

Due to emacs-straight/org-mode@e22b4eb , a replacement major mode (for
org-mode) can no longer be specified from .dir-locals.el, as it spirals
into infinite recursion. Therefore, a mode: line is needed in all Doom
docs.

compat is a dependency of magit and doom-modeline (among other
packages), but a recent bug on compat@2a9cf8b caused #6583 , so I am
pinning it to a stable commit. It's not common that Doom pins 2nd/3rd
order dependencies, but I will consider doing that more going forward.
Pinning them across multiple modules isn't elegant, but a better
solution is in the works as part of #4273 .

- Emacs 29 introduces the mode-line-active face, which inherits from
variable-pitch, therefore the modeline uses your variable-pitch font,
instead of your default. As of

Fewer links means less confusion.
- Merge doom-issue and doom-commit links into doom-ref (for auto-linking
Issue/PR/commit references).
- Merge doom-module-source and doom-docs-source links into doom-source.
- Rename doom-report-issue to doom-report.
- Use '!' as the icon for module issues link.
- Remove doom-repo (replaced with "doom:*" in :lang org module).
- Add doomdir and emacsdir links to :lang org module.
